Class Aims: The goal of this class is to learn English, both through movies and news discussion. Movies are a great way to develop listening skills for the way people actually talk. They are also invaluable for learning new expressions and vocabulary. They also give many great starting-off points to greater discussions on various topics that might not appear in regular English conversation text books and classes. News discussion also expands our knowledge into current events and allows students to tackle those subjects with greater confidence in English, while learning new vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation practice and a free place to share their ideas in English. This class is best suited for intermediate to advanced speakers. But all are welcome, as all skills can be improved with time and practice.
